GIOVANNI FRANCESCO CAROTO (1480 - 1555)
Boy with a drawing, ca.1520

This painting is just a portrait, a work of which neither symbolizes nor has a religious content (unlike most works of art coming from the North-Italian period of renaissance). What it stands for is that the normal themes of everyday life deserve to be pictured as well as themes of historical or mystic gravity. It shows us that creativity is something existing in each and everyone of us, even the most normal young boy.
