Titus

REMBRANDT HARMENSZ VAN RIJN (1606 - 1669)
Titus (w.d.)

The son of Rembrandt often appears on his paintings, e.g. as youthful christ, as a saint or as the Seraphim whispering to the ear St. Matthews in the painting "St. Matthew and the Angel". Unfortunately, Titus dies in 1668 at the age of only 28 years, shortly after his marriage. Rembrandt, the already stricken father who has endured many tragedies, dies one year later, being 63 years old.
